Thomas Rodney "Rod" Young
Young, Rod, age 61, passed away peacefully at University Hospital on the morning
of July 7th. He was born on February 9, 1949 to Libby Mann Young and Harlan
Kenneth Young, both of whom preceded him in death. On May 16, 1969, he married
his college sweetheart, Elaine Williams. After graduation from the University
of Louisville, he began what would become a 35 year career with Procter &
Gamble. He was an active member of the Emmaus Community at the Hyde Park
Methodist Church. He never lost his passion for spreading the Gospel and
praying for others. He was the consummate father to John David "J.D." Young of
Bethel, OH and Tyler Reed Young of Gainesville, FL. He will be deeply missed by
his wife of 41 years, Elaine (Williams) Young and his sister Kim (Young) Thomas
of Louisville, KY. Rod was a loving, caring, patient and gentle man who will be
missed by scores of friends and his extended family. "Well done, Rod".
