Bruce Abt Jaquish, age 81 of Milford, formerly of Grosse Pointe, Michigan, passed Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the West Chester Hospital. He was born July 10, 1935 in Detroit, Michigan the second son of Charles and Winifred (nee Abt) Jaquish. Bruce was educated a Hillsdale College and Michigan State University, he was the Vice President of the International Department of Banking, working at the Michigan National Bank in Detroit, the Third National Bank in Dayton and the Chase Bank in Fort Wayne. He was an active ham radio operator whose call was WB8UGV, a member of D.A.R.A. the Laughery Valley Radio Club and the Fort Wayne Radio Club. He enjoyed tinkering with electronics, often building radios, antennas and towers and he shared his enthusiasm with his grandson, Quinn, with trains and taking things apart to see how to put them back together, he could fix most anything from wiring a house to a radio. He was a scientist at heart, studied astronomy as an avocation, and was knowledgeable about geography and world affairs. Bruce liked to meet with likeminded friends. He served on the board of the Duveneck Assoc. of the Cincinnati Art Museum. Bruce adored being with his family, traveling together to Ukraine, Italy, Russia and Mexico. He belonged to the Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE) in Fort Wayne and Cincinnati and he and his wife Karen, belonged to the S.E. International Trade Assoc., Sister Cities and Dayton Council on World Affair. He enjoyed photography and was a volunteer TV camera operator for the Allen County Public Library in Fort Wayne. Dancing gave him great joy, participating in any type from ballroom to line dancing and when he was chosen "Prom King" at SEM Haven, he danced with all the ladies. He loved puns and other humor. Bruce married Karen I. (nee Dinkgree) Jaquish on December 11, 1965, celebrating almost 52 years of marriage. He is survived by his wife, Karen, daughter and son-in-law; Elisabeth and Scott Jaquish Galocy, a grandson Quinn Galocy, nieces and nephews; Vanessa Gollin, Seth Jaques, Michael and Steven Jaquish, Ryan and Katelyn Dinkgrave, Lorah and Lilliam Super, Sarah and Pam Waters and he was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles and John. Services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, April 15, 2017 at the Evans Funeral Home in Milford with visitation Friday the 14th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
