Christopher L. Watson age 35, of Batavia, passed away suddenly, February 24, 2019 at the Clermont Mercy Hospital. He was born December 7, 1983 the son of Paul and Deborah (nee Mackey) Watson. Chris was a 2001 graduate of Clermont Northeastern High School and the co-owner of Watson Contracting with his father and brother. From a young age he was in love with big trucks, and told his grandma he would "have big trucks someday that would not fit in her driveway." Today, he is part of Watson Family Super Stock Pulling Team, driving the SuperMax Diesel PullingTruck. He was an innovator of technology in diesel truck pulling, often creating new parts from old and working his way up the ladder with his hard work and knowledge in diesel trucks. At the age of 22 he won the National Championship. Recently, an article was published about his family in the May 2018 issue of "Ultimate Diesel Builder's Guide. He was a member of the FFA in high school and continued to "give back" to his community being a part of the "Tractor Trouble Shooting Team" of the FFA at CNE. Chris had worldwide friends through Facebook and hosted Russian friends in the family home to study his technology. He never met a person he disliked and was always giving of himself. Finally, he had a love of international cuisine often creating dishes for his family and friends. He is survived by his parents, Paul & Deborah, brother; Randy Watson, maternal grandmother; Betty (the late Jack) Mackey and a host of loving aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents; Bill & Mildred Watson, his aunt Linda Baker and uncle Billy Watson. Services will be 12:00 PM Thursday, February 28, 2019 at the Owensville First Baptist Church, 5213 St. Rt. 132, Batavia, OH 45103 with visitation from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church. His family requests memorials in his honor to American Diabetes Association, 10200 Alliance Dr. Cincinnati, OH 45242.
