October 25, 1943 - January 31, 2018
David Joseph Zimmerman passed away at Hospice of Cincinnati after long
battle fighting cancer. The son of Max and Evelyn Zimmerman, he was born October 25,1943 at Christ
Hospital in Cincinnati Ohio. David graduated from Millersburg Military Academy in Millersburg, Kentucky.
He was employed and worked for his family's business, Zimmerman Dry Cleaners at 2519
Burnet Ave. in Cincinnati. He traveled and sold products throughout the United States
and Europe. He married Charlotte in 1966 and they celebrated together 51 years of
David worked and traveled Indiana and Michigan for Stouffer Chemical and also
Emery Industries which led them to live in Michigan for 17 years. During that time, and
with his early entrepreneurial spirit, David started several companies; a uniform rental
business, a printing company, a relocation guide for Metropolitan Detroit using his
connections with corporate headquarters, and a health and fitness club. In 1985, he
returned with his family to Ohio, settling on a farm in Pleasant Plain. There he lived for
the next 30 years. David spent his last 32 years doing what he truly loved though,
being a real estate investor.
He and his wife moved to Loveland to downsize and get to know new
neighbors. He loved the Lord and loved people. David attended Trinity Methodist
Church in Milford, Ohio from 1986-1992, and Faith Church from 1993 until his death.
David used his talents and experience to work on projects for Habitat For
Humanity, Hurricane Andrew and Katrina, and coming alongside single moms and
widows. He had a passion for mentoring men and couples in their marriages. If anyone
was in need, they knew they could count on him. He loved to travel and was always up
for an adventure.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte, his eldest son, Garrad (Annette)
Zimmerman, his daughter, Kelly (Paul) Jackson, and youngest son, Christopher
(Heather) Zimmerman along with seven of his grandchildren.
Services will be 11:00 AM, Monday, February 5, 2018 at the Faith Church, 5910 Price Rd., Milford, OH 45150
Family and friends may visit 3:00 to 5:00 PM on Sunday, February 4, 2018 and again Monday from 10:00 until the service time, all at the Faith Church.
