With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Edna Margaret (Burrow) Hall, our Loving and Devoted mother and friend to all whose lives she touched. She left us on January 12, 2021 while sleeping peacefully at her residence in Blanchester, OH. We also rejoice in Edna going to her eternal home where she will be reunited with her beloved family and friends alike.
Born in Walnut, Mississippi, she witnessed incredible changes to her world in her 95 years. After World War II, she met and married her loving husband Matthew E. Hall in 1946 and they were together for 51 years.
She was the treasured mother of Johnnie (Judy) Hall, Lynn (Joe) Hall and Don (Rickie) Hall. Proud grandmother of James Hall, Jesse Hall, Steven Shaw, Dale Shaw, Tammy Ferguson, Deena Greene, Matthew Hall and Sydney Hall. Great grandmother of Taylor, Savana, Riley, Brayden, Andrew, Nic, Avery, Rebecca, Kaila, Amy, Devon and Piper. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband Matthew and her daughters; Diane Shaw and Michelle Hall.
Granny, as we all called her, loved to cook, relished Christmas time and all the preparations, kept an immaculate house and worked many years as a nurse's aide giving care and comfort to others. She loved reading her Bible and spent many hours singing gospel music. She would tell stories of growing up with her loving family in poor surroundings which instilled in her a welcoming and generous nature. One of her greatest pleasures, in her later years, was taking care of her cherished dog Leo.
Regardless of hardships in her life, Edna always stayed positive and cheerful. She met each day with a smile. She was always available to her family near and far, an ear to bend or a shoulder to cry on. Everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her, loved her and her presence will be greatly missed.
A celebration of Edna's life will be held at a later date at the graveside in Memphis.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Activities Department at Continental Manor located at 820 E. Center Street Blanchester, OH 45107.
