September 17, 1933 - December 31, 2017
This morning we pay tribute to F. Neil Jonas who passed away on or about Dec 29th 2017.
. Born on Sept 17th, 1933; Uncle Neil lived a long life; the "young Prince" deeply loved and pretty much raised by his sisters Jean, Lois, Joyce, and Patty and Virginia, with whom he was particularly close. Always missing his brother, Charles who gave his life for our country in WW2. He loved getting together and traveling with his sisters and their husbands; and always seemed surprised when his numerous nieces and nephews were so happy to see him.
As a young adult, Neil also gave to our country entering the Navy. Upon his return to home, he worked for CG&E his entire career as a lineman. Living in Milford along the river, Neil spent countless hours, day, weeks, months rebuilding and preserving the riverbed. Working with the Corp of Engineers and City Officials to maintain the river and the surrounding banks. At his request, the "Charles Norman Jonas" Memorial Park will be established on a portion of his property in honor of his late brother with whom he is now joined again in Heaven.
Neil requested cremation and no fuss over him so there will be a gathering in his honor in the Spring at his property; at which time we shall spread his ashes in his beloved river behind his homestead.
Rest In Peace dear Uncle!
