JAMES MICHAEL (Mick) HAUN (73), born June 19, 1945 in Salem, Ohio, born to eternal life February 5, 2019. Proceeded in death by his father, James W. and step-daughter Dawn Acus. Survived by his wife of 27 years Beverly, his mother, Dorothy M. Haun, sons Matthew (wife Shanna) of Overland Park, KS and Christopher (Jayma) Haun of Tulsa, Ok; Co-parent to Douglas Christophersen (wife Naomi) of Milford, OH; Grandchildren Mackenzie; Kallie; Christopher; Vanessa; Kyle; Corey; Ryan; Cole and Jacob; Great Grand Niece's & Nephews Maia; Parker; Brady and Josh; sister Patti Sutherin (husband Dan) of New Waterford, Ohio; niece Michelle Musser (husband Joseph) and nephew Michael J Reed (wife Jenny). Jim graduated from East Palestine High School in East Palestine, Ohio in 1963, attended Western Kentucky University prior to joining the United States Air Force, where he served from 1964 to 1972 attaining the rank of Staff Sargent, while serving as a Combat Engineer with the AF Civil Engineering Squadrons worldwide. Jim was an Eagle Scout from Troop 44 in East Palestine, Ohio; an active member of the Boy Scouts of America for over 45 years, receiving numerous awards for his service; a Past Master of Negley 565 F&AM Lodge; a 35-year member of Valley of Steubenville 32 Scottish Rite. Jim was a retired stock car driver, racing Official for the American Speed Association National Tour (ASANT), where he served as Tech Official, Pace Car Driver, Technical Director and Safety Director and the American Speed Association Late Model Series (ASALMS) where he served as Pace Car Driver, Technical Director, Director of Safety and Director of Operations for the Challenge, Northern and Southern Series. He was a member of ASA; ASALMS; NASCAR; All Pro Racing Series, as well as numerous local tracks around the country. Family will receive friends at Evans Funeral Home, Milford, on Monday, February 11th from 10 AM until time of services beginning at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Graceland Memorial Gardens.
