John Tych Jr.beloved husband of 49 years to Sandra (nee Carnivale) Tych; loving father of son, Brian (Nicole) Tych, and daughter Stephanie (Michael) Craig; PaPa of 2 grandchildren, Brandon and Sydney. He is also survived by his brother Donald Tych and his sister Elaine (Tych) Mamrich and their spouses, 6 nieces and nephews, and 8 great-nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and his eldest brother, Robert Tych.

The son of John Tych Sr and Helen Dudash, John was born and raised in Youngstown, Ohio and attended St Cyrill and St Methodius grade school and Carninal Mooney High School. Upon graduating from High School in June 1963, he joined the US Marine Corps. He defended our country during the US Occupation of the Dominican Republic in 1965 and he was also stationed in Newfoundland, Canada. He was honorably discharged as a corporal E4 in 1967. Shortly after returning home to Youngstown from the Marines, he became employed at Republic Steel/WCI Steel in Warren, Ohio, then met and married his wife, Sandra. Together, they lived in Austintown, Ohio with their 2 children Stephanie and Brian. In 1982, he joined the USAF as a military reservist in the 76th Mobile Aerial Port Squadron- "76 APS" in Vienna, Ohio and was actively deployed during Desert Storm in 1990-1992. He proudly served in and retired from the US Armed Forces as a Tech Sergeant, E6, after a total of 20 yrs and 2 months. His military awards include: meritorius service medal, marksman badge, rifleman M-14, good conduct medal, national defense service medal, armed forces expeditionary medal for his service in the Dominican Republic, Air Force Commendation Citation.

Visitation will be held on Friday January 5, 2018 at St Andrew Church, 552 Main St, Milford, OH from 11:00 AM until time of Mass of Christian Burial at Noon. Millitary honors will follow the Mass at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be given to St Andrew Church at the above address.
