Julia Kostyn, 97, formerly of Elyria Ohio, passed away peacefully at the Otterbein Senior Life Neighborhood in Loveland, Ohio. She was born in Lorain, Ohio and graduated from Lorain High School. Julia was an employee of the Lorain Creamery and May Company Department Store. Julia was an active member of the Hungarian Reformed Church in Lorain. Over the years she was involved with the choir and food preparation for church and community events. Her specialties were the traditional Hungarian cabbage rolls Csiga (noodles), chicken paprikash and dumplings. She was also a member and Secretary of the Caring Circle. Julia is survived by her two children Gilbert (Laura) Kostyn and daughter Karen (David) Hunter. Grandsons Brian (Melissa) and Kevin (Laura). Two great-grandchildren Charlotte Joy and Brennen Stephen with expected great-granddaughter Ella Rose. Julia is preceded in death by her husband Gilbert, parents Julia and Alex, and siblings Rose, Blanche, and Alex. Visitation will be at Evans Funeral Home - Milford 741 Center Street Milford, OH 45150, Friday, February 7, 2020 from 6 to 8 p.m. with a celebration of life service.
