Eckelman, Michael V -- a long-time resident of the Milford area, passed away suddenly on Sunday, January 3, 2021, at the age of 61. He shared an amazing life with his wife Cheryl Eckelman (nee Rayhle) for 30 years and was a devoted father to their two children, Cole and Camille Eckelman. He is the son of Bernard Eckelman and the late Sharon Eckelman (nee Sayer); brother to Colin (Anna) Eckelman and Johnna (John) Larkin; son-in-law to George and Chris Nunner; and brother-in-law to Steve Rayhle. Mike touched many lives, starting when he was born in Carthage, New York. He graduated from the University of South Florida in Tampa where he played collegiate baseball and spent several years living and working in Colorado Springs. He finally settled in Cincinnati where he lived for 33 years. Mike was a homebuilder for much of his professional career, but in 2008, he took his entrepreneurial spirit and many talents and started a successful business where he won multiple high awards including New Office of the Year, Office of the Year and President's Circle. In his free time, he loved to golf, spend time by the pool, and enjoy cocktails with friends and family. Mike was a lover, a competitor, a fixer, and a friend. He was motivated yet selfless, in that he wanted to be successful and wanted those around him to be successful as well. He was a coach and teacher at heart, which speaks to his determination and character. He practiced servant leadership throughout his entire life - never scared to get his hands dirty and to lead by example. Mike was an honorable man who kept his word every single time and was a role model to every person he met. He left his mark everywhere he went. His goofiness and energy lit up every room he ever walked in. In his final act of kindness, Mike was able to save 60-80 lives with his LifeCenter donations. If love could have saved him, he would have lived forever. #LegendsNeverDie
