"Patrick Russell Carter, age 83, passed away September 25th, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold & Willetta Carter; son, Phillip Carter; brothers, Charles and James Carter; and sister, Linda Kleinjohn. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Carter (nee Kellerman); his children, Sharon (James) Maloney and Gary Carter; daughter-in-law Bobbie-Jo Carter; grandchildren, Christopher, Robert (Hannah) , Joshua and Sarah; great-grandson, Ben; and his sisters, Mary Jo Harris and Betsy Long.
After serving more than 36 years, Patrick retired from a distinguished military career as a CMSG in the United States Air Force. He served during the Vietnam and Dessert Storm wars. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star, White Shrine, and served as a commander of an American Legion post.
Patrick & Sarah recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. He was passionate about old & classic cars and country music, enjoyed playing cards and games with friends, loved reminiscing with family, and liked trying to make people laugh. He was also a successful real estate agent.
Originally from Batavia Ohio, Patrick also resided in Dayton Ohio and Taveres Florida, among many other places. He enjoyed traveling, camping and taking Caribbean cruises.
Visitation will be Saturday October 2nd, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral services start at 11:00 AM at Evans Funeral Home in Milford. Interment to follow in Batavia Union Cemetery, with Military Honors.
If preferred, donations, dedicated in honor of Patrick, can be made to the Shriners Hospital For Children, instead of flowers."
