Alex Theodore Young Jr.

Ted Young age 80, of Milford, passed away February15, 2020 surrounded by his family. Ted was a member of the Christian Faith and volunteered with daycare to provide for his first grandchild. He retired after 45 years of service as a materials control analyst with Nutone. He enjoyed the sport of soccer, he was a member of Milford's original SAY Soccer organization. Ted coordinated and coached youth soccer teams for boys and girls including his own children's teams. He spent his free time helping with maintenance on the fields for games and practices. He chaperoned for Opal's students for field trips. With all the time that he spent on the soccer field, he still had time to be an avid gardener, reader and woodcrafter. He is the beloved husband of Opal Young, the terrific father of Gregory Young and Bethany Young Wilson, dear father-in-law of Peggy Young and John Wilson, the most loving grandfather of Alex, Allison, Emily, Jack and Megan, the dear caring brother of Patty and Shirley and cherished uncle of many nephews and nieces. Family will receive friends at the Milford First United Methodist Church on Saturday, February 22nd from 10 AM until time for memorial services beginning at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Disabled American Veterans, The Milford First United Methodist Church or The Salvation Army.
