Obituary for Alice Carol Herndon

Alice Carol Herndon, 83, passed away peacefully at her home on May 27, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family and the comforting presence of her beloved pets.

Born on June 10, 1941, Alice was a woman of strength and deep compassion. She found joy in simple things - time with her family, the company of animals, and the beauty of her plants and flowers. She created a home that was not just a haven for her loved ones, but a true sanctuary for animals in need of care and comfort.

She is survived by her devoted husband of many years, Richard Darrell Herndon, and by her loving children: Richard (Diane) Herndon, Steve (Vicky) Herndon, Kimberly (Frank) Sheehy, Kelley (Bill) Doan, Christopher (Angie) Herndon, and Andrew (Heather) Herndon. She was also the proud mother of Tracy Jones and Robin Herndon, who preceded her in death.

Alice was a cherished grandmother to 28 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her great pride and happiness. She is also survived by her sister, Phyllis Hinkle, and was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Sally Hinkle.

A celebration of Alice's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Grant Memorial Church, 1600 Back Street, Point Pleasant, Ohio 45153. All who knew and loved Alice are welcome to attend and honor the life of a woman whose nurturing spirit and strength left an enduring legacy.

Alice will be remembered for the love she gave, the life she tended, and the warmth she shared with everyone around her.
