Alma Elaine Frye

October 11th, 1939 – January 8th, 2024

FRYE, Alma Elaine (nee McHenry) – Elaine was the loving mother of Karen (Marvin Stankeveh) Young, Kevin (Julie) Frye, Lisa Frye, Stephanie (Jeff) Hawkes, and Jon Frye. Cherished grandmother of Ben Young, Lillian Frye, Emma (Vince) Meinking, Noah Frye, Max Hawkes, Zach Hawkes, and Jaxon Frye. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, Herman McHenry and Lucille McHenry (nee McDaniel), and granddaughter Kelsey Paterno. She passed away Monday morning, January 8th, 2024, Age 84 years, resident of Milford, Ohio.

Elaine graduated from Goshen High School in 1957. While raising 5 kids, she got a job as a receptionist at Haines Criss Cross Directories in the early 1980’s and began a 25-year career where she rose to the top as a regional sales manager, leading the nation in sales several times.

Elaine’s passions were her family and celebrating the holidays. She looked forward to monthly Sunday dinners with her family at her parents’ farm and continued the tradition with her direct family in later years. She was an incredible cook, making spectacular meals for Thanksgiving and Christmas, and of course, using lots of butter and salt mixed with love.

Elaine loved to travel and experience new things. She was also a lifelong animal lover and had multiple pets through the years.

The best word to describe Elaine was “selfless”. She was always thinking about others, even when dealing with great adversity and trials in her own life. If you needed a helping hand or a compassionate listener, she was always there for you.

Elaine’s faith in Christ was her rock and salvation. She attended Horizon Community Church in Newtown, Ohio, and loved attending her Wednesday night Bible studies.

Family will receive friends at Evans Funeral Home, Milford, on Friday, January 12th, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 . Funeral service to immediately follow at 11:30 AM. Burial in Goshen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to League for Animal Welfare in Batavia, OH, or St. Jude’s Hospital for Children.
