Alma Peters

Alma Mae Peters (Brewer) age 93, of Goshen, OH, went home to be with her Lord and Saviour September 22, 2025. She was at home surrounded by her family. She was the daughter of James and Lucinda Brewer of Hazard, KY, where she lived until she met and married Coy Peters in 1948. They later moved to Ohio where they raised five children. She had many jobs over the years but always enjoyed taking care of their home and family. She was very active and enjoyed many activities like raising chickens, helping with yard work, gardening, canning, crafts, and meeting people. She had a love for people: family, church family, friends, strangers. She had a servant's heart and often took food and desserts to the local fire department and nursing homes. She loved spending time with her family and never got enough of that. She loved Jesus and always told people about Him and how they could have a personal relationship with Him. She shared the love of Jesus with everyone she met; she truly didn't know a stranger. She prayed for family and friends to come to know Him. She was a member of Northern New Home Old Regular Baptist Church in Goshen, OH for almost 50 years.

She is also proceeded in death be her husband of almost 72 years, Coy Peters, brothers: Columbus, Kelsey Moses, Eldon Ray, James Harry, Dewey Lee, and Calvin (Curt), sisters: Golda Fay Stacy and Betty Cornett. She is survived by daughters: Joyce Moore, Phyllis (Edward) Mount, Tammy (Michael) Marshall, sons: Donnie Lee (Cathy) Peters, Will Peters, sixteen grandchildren, thirty nine great grandchildren, sixteen great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, church family, and friends.

A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Evans Funeral Home, 1944 State Route 28, Goshen, OH 45122. Visitation starts at 10:30 AM with the funeral service starting at 12:00 PM. Following the service, Alma will be laid to rest at Goshen Cemetery in Goshen, OH 45122.
