Arthur V. Price

Arthur Virgil Price Jr. age 96, of Miami Township, passed away surrounded by his family, Friday, December 28, 2018 at his residence. He was born July 16, 1922 in Columbus the son of Arthur Virgil and Mayme Florence (nee Rose) Price Sr. Art was a graduate of North High School in Columbus, Ohio. He entered the U.S. Navy and served during WWII. During his Navy Tour of Duty, he married Elizabeth Mae (nee Brinker) Price on January 10, 1942. After being honorably discharged from the Navy, Art worked for the Drackett Co. In October 1956 Art & Betty moved to Milford and he became quite the businessman.
He was instrumental in opening the following businesses over the years; Yankee Dollar, the Bo-Winkle Company, Old Town Ice Cream & Gifts, Jamboree Sports, Sports Pro, and Pinnacle Sweaters. Art started the Cincinnati Suds Professional Softball Team; he was a Developer and Board Member of the Miami Hills Swim Club, a Miami Township Trustee for 8 years, an avid golfer and member of the O'Bannon Creek Golf Course, as well as a member of the Milford First United Methodist Church. After 68 years of marriage, Betty preceded him in death on February 2, 2010. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law; Ginni and Mike Chaffin, Pamela and Steve Bates, Chrisann and Don Stepp, grandchildren; Mark (Amy) Chaffin, Matt (Peg) Chaffin, Stephenie (Chris) Coursey, Tracy (Joe Guy) Bates, Don Stepp, Greg (Malu) Stepp, Ann Stepp, great-grandchildren Kevin, Logan (Caroline), Max, Andrew, Erin, Hannah, Ashley, Gunnar and Lope. He was also preceded in death by his siblings; Pauline Billingsly, Lois Hughs, Peggy Gatto and Lee Price. Services will be 12:00 PM Thursday, January 3, 2019, with visitation from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the Milford First United Methodist Church, 541 Main St., Milford, OH 45150. Pastor Steven Rodgers will officiate. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery in Miamiville.
