"Art" Arthur H. Roeper, SR
November 18, 1927- December 27, 2016
Art, age 89, of Wayne Township, passed away Tuesday December 27, 2016 at Ohio Veterans Home in Georgetown, OH. The only child of Arthur M and Hazel Faye Roeper. Art enlisted in the United States Navy June 8, 1945 where he served aboard the USS Terror during W W II. Art was a Seaman 1st Class when he was honorably discharged August 2, 1946. Before and after his time in the service he was employed by Strietmann Biscuit Co.-later known as Keebler- where he met the love of his life Elizabeth "Betty" Corcoran. Art and Betty were married for 68 1/2 years and blessed with three children Butch, Linda and Cathy. After retiring in 1983 Art and Betty together enjoyed camping, fishing and bowling. They also volunteered their time at church and with Senior Services. Art and Betty's only son Art Jr. (Butch) passed away October 2006 and his beloved wife Betty passed away in May 2015. Art is survived by his two daughters Linda (Herschel) Liming and Cathy (Doug) Vaughn. Grandchildren Laura, Michelle, Melissa, Eric and Brad Great grandchildren Thomas, Gregory, Kyle, Cody, Kayla and Elijah and Great great grandchildren Madison and Mason. Visitation will be held Friday December 30th from 11:30 am until time of funeral service at 1:00 at the Owensville Church of Christ 2545 US 50 Burial immediately after at Graceland Memorial Gardens in Milford, OH with Navy & VFW Military Honors. Memorial contributions may be given to Disabled American Veterans, 3725 Alexandria Pike, Cold Spring, KY 41076 or at the church.
