Barry F. Smith

Barry Francis Smith, age 62, of Montgomery, passed early morning of August 17, 2017 at his residence. He was born September 12, 1954 in Reading, Massachusetts the son of Francis and Janet (nee Hart) Smith. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts for his under graduate studies and finished his Master's Degree in Civil Engineering at Purdue University. He retired after 35 years of service as a Civil Engineer with Procter & Gamble. Barry was a member of the St. Andrew Catholic Church in Milford and volunteered with the St. Vincent de Paul Society. He enjoyed working with Engineers Without Borders, Habitat for Humanity and Happen, Inc. His first wife, Katherine (nee Antunes) Smith preceded him in death Aug. 17, 2003. He is survived by his wife, Minda (nee Matthews) Smith, sons and daughter-in-law, Evan Smith, Connor & Emily Smith, brothers; Greg, Jerry, and Matthew Smith, sisters; Keiren Stewart, Maureen Smith-Wojcik, Elaine Petersen, and Monica Eynatian, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He will be missed dearly. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2017 at the St. Andrew Catholic Church, 552 Main St., Milford 45150 with a gathering time for family and friends from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass at the church. His family requests in lieu of flowers, donations in his memory be directed to Happen, Inc. 4201 Hamilton Ave. Cincinnati, OH 45223, or to the charity of one's choice.
