Betty Bates Chandler

Betty Bates Chandler, a beloved resident of Milford, OH and devoted wife, mother, and friend, passed away on November 20, 2024, at the age of 97. Born on September 28, 1927, in Milford, OH, Betty was known for her unwavering love for her family and her friendly and cheerful personality.

Betty cherished her family above all else, making fond memories of holidays spent at her home. She supported her husband during his military service, even working a civil service job at the Pentagon during that time. Later, she served as the secretary for her husband's plumbing business. When her children were young, she volunteered her time to the church by washing and pressing robes for the acolytes and mostly things she could do from her home.

Throughout her life, Betty stayed busy with many activities and celebrations including those with her children and grandchildren. In her later years, she found joy in spending time with her friends and appreciating the simple pleasures of life.

Betty is survived by her loving daughters, Sally (David) Loftspring, Patricia Minniear, and her son, Douglas (Nancy) Chandler, her grandchildren, Matthew (Meghan) Loftspring, Catherine (Jared) Isaac, Alison (Ryan) Wiggins, Scott Minniear, Philip Minniear, Michael (Darcie) Chandler, Paige (Jack) Grosser and Christine Chandler, her eight great-grandchildren, and her nieces and nephews, Donna (George deceased) Lumpkin, Mary (Chuck) Downey, Steve (Pam) Bates, Kim (Steve) Tuzzolino, Thomas Hammon deceased, Jerry Barnes deceased, Kevin Barnes and Jennifer (Tim) Daniels . She is preceded in death by her husband Allen Chandler, and her siblings; Gladys Kincaid, Donald Bates, Harold "Tick" Bates, and her parents Joseph and Bertha Bates.

A visitation will be held at the Milford First United Methodist Church on Tuesday, November 26th from 10 AM until the funeral service beginning at 11 AM. Betty's legacy of love and dedication will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.
