Betty Ann (nee Cox) Evans - Age 83, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her devoted husband, Hillary "Mick" Evans, and her family, on May 21,2021. She was born February 21, 1938, to Everett W. Cox Sr. (deceased) and Mildred P. (nee Grooms) Cox (deceased). Betty grew up with three brothers Bill (deceased) (Lora) Cox, Paul (deceased) Cox and Bob Cox. Betty graduated from Goshen High School, Class of 1957, where she met the love of her life, Mick Evans. They were married June 21, 1958, next month they would have celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary. They were a true example of what a good marriage should be.
Betty was a loving and dedicated mom first and foremost to her three children, Ken (Judy) Evans, Kim (Joe) Woodall, Karen Evans. She was always involved with their daily lives and activities such as room mom, Cub Scout Leader, Girl Scout Leader, baseball mom and band mom. She was mom to kids in the neighborhood, as they would even knock on the door and ask Mick if she could come out and play.
Betty spent her later life as a doting "Mamaw" to her four grandchildren, Bethany Evans, Nick (Ashley) Evans, Hillary (Ryan) Mummert and Hannah (Alex Barlow) Woodall. She always participated in their sports and school activities. Their friends would go to her house during the time between school and sports and she would cook for a group of them, just like it was a restaurant, whatever they wanted to eat. She lived to spoil them all and was looking forward to spoiling her First Great Grandchild, K.J. Evans due next month.
The best times were family time, birthdays, and family dinners with games. She started the Christmas P.J. tradition and Sunday Funday with Karaoke. Thankfully, there are plenty of videos to watch of her singing with Mick, priceless. So, until we meet in heaven and gain our wings as well, we will carry on your traditions, share your recipes, sing your songs, and enjoy life. We will always be kind and compassionate to others. Most of all we will laugh, we will not have your infectious laughter, but we will laugh, and when we do, we will think of you. We love you more and thank you for the "AWESOME" life you gave us all.
A Celebration of Life will be at Evans Funeral Home 741 Center Street Milford, Ohio 45150 Friday, June 4, 2021, from 5:00 PM until time of memorial service at 6:00 PM.
