Betty J. Prater

Betty J. Prater age 86, of Union Township, passed away Monday, November 19, 2018 at the Anderson Mercy Hospital. She was born September 5, 1932 in Clairfield, Tennessee the daughter of Chester and Mattie (nee Taylor) Hoskins. After graduation from high school, Betty attended the Pruden & Lincoln Memorial University. She retired from Cincinnati Bell with 31 years of service. Betty is survived by her husband of 66 years, Roy C. Prater, her children and spouses, David & Sue Prater, Kimberly & Darrell Clemons, grandchildren; Matt, Derrick, Brandon, Samantha and Taylor, great grandchildren Wyatt and Miles, her sister, Lea Johnson and brother, J.D. Hoskins along with numerous loving family members.
Along with her parents she was preceded by her son, James "Slinky" Prater and a sister, Shelby Hopper. Services will be 11:30 AM Friday, November 23, 2018 at the Evans Funeral Home in Milford.
Family and friends may visit 9:30 AM until the time of service. Reverend Brian Wikoff will officiate. Burial will follow in the Graceland Memorial Gardens in Miami Township.
