Billy Wayne Baird, a resilient soul born on September 1, 1930, in Milan, TN, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2024.
Billy's life was a testament to strength and perseverance, having triumphed over the adversities of two childhood car accidents. A man of humble beginnings, he ventured as a young man as a caddie at the Terrace Park Country Club.
Embracing the love for the green fields, Billy found solace in the game of golf, a passion that led him to the triumphant moment of achieving a hole in one. The echoes of old-timey music resonated in his heart, a melody that soothed his soul through the journey of life. A keen observer of the world around him, he found joy in following the stock market and sharing in the victories of the Cincinnati Reds baseball team.
Billy is preceded in death by his parents Lonnie and Mary Baird, his brother Carnell (Loretta) Baird and his sister Evelyn (Ed) Alexander. He is survived by his loving niece Jeanie (Rick) Page and niece Barbara (Jack) Burriss, two great nieces, two great nephews, one great-great niece and five great-great nephews.
His family will receive friends at Evans Funeral Home, Milford, on Friday, February 23rd from 1 PM until time of funeral services beginning at 2 PM. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Milford.
