Obituary

It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of Bonita Joy Kroeger on October 3, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on September 2, 1947, in Ironwood, MI, Bonnie was a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend who brought warmth and laughter to everyone she met.

She was honored to be the mother of her son, Jeff Kroeger (Jolene) and her daughter, Jennifer Dannemiller (Jason), who will forever hold dear her unwavering love and strength. As a grandmother, her legacy shines brightly through her grandchildren: Malarie Funke (Tony), Jon Kroeger, Bryce Kroeger (Kayla), Peyton Kroeger (Sydney), Raegan Warren (Justin), Kurt, Craig, Kyle, and Chad Dannemiller, as well as her great-grandchildren: Declan, Dyson, Damon, Lorelai, Vincenza, and Brody. Each of them carries a piece of her spirit, and her sassy, unconditional love that will continue to inspire them in their lives. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Mildred Luther and her brother Doug Luther, and her best friend and husband of 59 years Tom Kroeger.

She was a 1965 Milford High School graduate, and the welcoming face at the dental office at five points in Milford for 31 years with Dr. Shively and Dr. Glockner. She spent her years of retirement, traveling with friends, working at the trophy shop, volunteering as the school lunch lady at her church, serving the St. Mark church community, and never missing a grandchild's or great grandchild's sporting event, performance, or important event in their lives.

Bonnie was a true matriarch, seamlessly weaving faith, love, and joy into the fabric of her family. Her unshakable faith was the foundation of her life, guiding the way she loved others, served her community, and cared for those around her. She lived her faith not only on Sundays, but every day through her kindness, generosity, and steadfast presence in the lives of those she loved.

A devoted member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Bonnie's faith was at the center of who she was. She found great joy in worship, lifting her voice in the choir and nurturing meaningful friendships through her beloved "Bible and Booze Girls". She treasured gathering people together, whether for holidays, game nights, church activities, or simple visits around the kitchen table. Bonnie had a gift for fostering connection, making everyone feel welcome and reminding those around her of the importance of faith, family, and fellowship.

Above all else, Bonnie will be remembered as a woman of deep faith, unwavering love, and fierce devotion to her family. She built a legacy not through grand gestures, but through a lifetime of showing up, loving generously, and placing God and family at the center of everything she did.

Memorial services will be held Monday, October 12, 2026 at 11:00AM at the St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Milford. Family and friends are invited to gather at 10:00AM until time of service to share stories, lift one another in remembrance, and celebrate the amazing woman who shaped so many lives.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to St. Marks Lutheran School in her memory, a reflection of her dedication and love for her community.

May Bonnie's legacy live on in every heart she touched; may her laughter echo in our memories, and may her love continue to guide us all.
