Carl Raymond Bertrand

Carl R. Bertrand died peacefully on Friday, September 11, 2020 in Milford at the age of 100. Born in Owensville,OH, he was the son of George and Martha (Petrat) Bertrand. His loving wife Ruth of 63 years died in 2010. He was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, friend, grandpa, Pop, and human being and he remained dear and loving til the end. Carl is survived by their son Jerry (Karen) Bertrand, and their daughter Jane (John) Hilliard, grandchildren Mollie Hilliard (Beth) and Matt Hilliard (Lisa) and great grandchildren Mason and Max plus numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother William Bertrand and sisters Edith Ansteatt, Dorothy White and Mildred Jones. Carl served his country in WWII as a Navy pilot in the South Pacific. And he dearly loved his many years of serving as the leader of Boy Scout Troop 464 in Mt. Carmel. The family would like to thank the staff at S.E.M. Haven in Milford for their extraordinary love and care for Carl. They were true angels. A celebration of his life will be planned when it is safe after Covid19. Memorials may be donated to S.E.M. Haven (Gatch Grove Household) at 225 Cleveland Avenue, Milford, Ohio 45150 or another nonprofit of one's choice.
