Carol Sue Parsons Hockensmith, 81, of Stonelick Township passed away July 15 after a lengthy illness. Carol was born Jan. 29, 1941, to Wilton Parsons and Emma Jean Jewell Parsons in Cincinnati. After graduating from Mother of Mercy High School in 1959, Carol went on to study history at Edgecliff College and Xavier University, earning a bachelor’s degree in 1975. In 1970, she wed William W. Hockensmith, and they had a son, Daniel. Carol’s parents and husband preceded her in death, and she is survived by her son. Carol dedicated her life to faith, motherhood, and community service. Whether volunteering at her church, her son’s schools, or the Cincinnati Museum Center, teaching dyslexic adults, and studying nursing in midlife, she believed God directed and placed her to improve the lives of others. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday August 3, 2022 at 11:30 AM at St. Louis Catholic Church and Cemetery, 210 N. Broadway St., Owensville.
