Catherine L. Braig

Catherine L. Braig (nee Steerstedter) passed away peacefully on March 1, 2015 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was 99 years old. Ms. Braig was born on October 21, 1915 in Bradford, Indiana. She graduated high school and moved to Cincinnati to join her sister, Eleanor, and to take a sales position. She was an active member of Saint Margaret of Cortona Catholic Church. Ms. Braig is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Bonnie Braig, her son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Nancy Braig, her daughter, Colette Shockley, her son, Joseph Braig, and her son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Mary Braig, fourteen grandchildren, and fifteen great grandchildren, four nieces, and two nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Martin, her sisters, Eleanor and Anna Lee, and her son-in-law, Richard Shockley. A viewing for the family will be held at 9:30 AM on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Evans Funeral Home in Milford, Ohio. Following the viewing, the funeral service will be held at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Milford, Ohio at 10:00 AM. The interment will takeplace at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery following the Mass. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Catherine's life. The family would like to thank the caregivers and staff of SEM Haven for their care and dedication to Catherine over the years. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to SEM Haven Nursing Home.
