Charles Randolph Hiter

Charles Randolph "Randy" Hiter, born on August 12, 1950, in Columbus, Georgia, passed away on August 28, 2024, at his residence in Milford, Ohio. He was a beloved father to his daughter Stephanie (Tim) MacDonald, grandfather to Vince, Anna and Gwen, step-father to Eric (the late Lisa) Newsome and Randy (Shelly) Newsome, step-grandfather of Grace, Kenzie and Oliver. Charles was a dedicated mechanic by profession, having obtained an associate's degree in his field.

Throughout his life, Charles found solace in fishing and the companionship of books, enriching his days with the tranquility they brought. He proudly served in the United States Army and later in the United States Marine Corps Reserves, an honorable testament to his commitment and bravery.

The family will receive friends at Evans Funeral Home, Goshen, on Wednesday, September 4th from 10 AM until the time of funeral services beginning at 11AM. The burial with military honors will take place at Graceland Memorial Gardens. Following the services, family and friends are invited to gather at the Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church for food and fellowship.

As we mourn his passing, we cherish the memories of Charles Randolph Hiter, a devoted father, a skilled mechanic, and a proud veteran who leaves behind a legacy of service and dedication. May his soul find peace in the embrace of those who went before him.

Charles was preceded in death by his late wife Teresa Hiter, his step-daughter-in-law Lisa Newsome, his mother Esther Hiter and his father Wesley Hiter.
