They made many trips to the Smokey Mountains, Las Vegas and Florida, and traveled with their church group on RV trips. They also got to check off a lot of bucket list travel destinations out west, Texas, the Caribbean, and Niagara Falls. Beside family, the dearest loves of Charlies life were the dogs he and Jill raised over the years. He leaves behind 4 miniature dachshunds and a tabby cat who loved him unconditionally. Charlie was very involved in the Goshen community as a member of the Goshen Lions Club and the Goshen Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association, and was a volunteer for the Goshen Park. His first and foremost love was the people at the Goshen United Methodist Church. He was very active in the church with the Goshen United Methodist Mens group, the campers group, and the Mens Bible Study. He found the best friends of his life through the church.
