Charles Judson Shreve

Charles Judson Shreve, 69 years, of Batavia Ohio, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at his home.

Charles was born in Cincinnati, Ohio the son of John and Margery Shreve. He went to the Cincinnati Public and Talawanda Schools of Ohio. He received his BS at Miami University, Masters at University of Cincinnati and his PHD at Kent State University.

Charles loved God, the Methodist traditions and singing in the chancel choir. He was a life long educator always pouring out his knowledge. He was a teacher at Northwest School District, Principal of East Palestine School District, Superintendent of Campbell City, Clermont Northeastern, Eastern Local, and Manchester School Districts.

Charles loved to hunt, fish, camp, reload his firearm cartridges, travel and build puzzles. He loved his family and enjoyed watching them grow.

On June 24, 1978 he was joined in marriage to Mary Ann Hogue Shreve. Charles is survived by his wife Mary Ann Shreve, Son John Shreve and wife Amy Shreve of Blanchester Ohio, Paulie Shreve of Miamisburg Ohio, Daughter Lisa Shreve of Miamisburg Ohio and four granddaughters, Lizzie Shreve, Emily Shreve, Ella Shreve and Margot Humler, Sister Anne Gale of Chambersburg PA, Brother John B. Shreve and wife Ann Shreve of Summerville South Carolina, Joseph A. Shreve and wife Nancy Shreve of Hamilton Ohio, Brother Samuel Shreve and wife Sharon Shreve of Fairfield Ohio, nephew Jeff Shreve of Dalzell South Carolina, niece Cathrine Shreve of Summerville South Carolina, nephew Scott Shreve of Miamisburg Ohio, niece Melissa Tijerina of Decatur Georgia , niece Megan Hogue of Oxford Ohio and nephew Ben Dubois.

Visitation is May 23,5:30-7:00 at Milford First United Methodist Church, Milford Ohio.

Services will be held May 24 at 11:00 at Milford First United Methodist Church.

Burial is at Spring Grove Cemetery, Cincinnati, Ohio
