Charles Welch, passed away on August 15, 2024, at the age of 87. Born in Cincinnati, OH on January 31, 1937 to Charles and Alma Welch.
Having graduated from Central High School in 1956, Charles pursued a career in electronics, dedicated 39 years of service to Cincinnati Bell, and retired in 1992. A devoted Mason, Charles became a member in 1970 and recently celebrated his 50-year milestone in 2020. He was an active member of the Valley of Cincinnati Scottish Rite, where his dedication and loyalty shone through.
Throughout his life, Charles was involved in various community activities. He shared his love for the outdoors by coaching baseball and serving as a Boy Scout leader and Master in the Milford, Ohio area. A drummer in the Oriental Band of the Syrian Shrine of Cincinnati, and a DeMolay Dad at the Milford Chapter, Charles touched the lives of many with his kindness and generosity.
In his free time, Charles found joy in raising his children, going camping, woodworking, and tackling home improvement projects. His warm smile and caring nature will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Charles is the husband of the late Virginia "Ginny" Welch and Dorothy Welch, the devoted father of Robert (Venus) Welch, Kenneth (Diane) Welch, Larry (Danielle) Welch, the late Gary Welch, the late Sharon (Ron) Hammonds, Karon (Roger Shannon) Mott, Kevin (Amy) Welch, Michael Welch and Tracy (Ron) Hooven. He is the grandfather of 17, great-grandfather of 40 and great-great-grandfather of 2, and the dear brother of Virginia Surber.
The family will receive friends at Evans Funeral Home, Milford, on Wednesday, August 21st from 10 AM until time of services beginning at 11:30 AM including Milford Masonic Lodge services and Scottish Rite Services. Following the ceremony, Charles will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Cemetery.
Charles Welch will forever be remembered for his unwavering commitment to his family, community, and passions. May his legacy live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
