Charles “Chuck” Dominic Zehnder, Jr. passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at home surrounded by his loved ones. Chuck was born November 13, 1945 in Cincinnati, the son of the late Charles and Geneva (nee Fey) Zehnder Sr. Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 37 years Cindi (nee Henderson); proud father of his 4 children, Kimberly (Alan) Willette, Kelli (Darrin) Varner, Christy (Michael Bullis) McGeorge and Christian Walters; Adored Grandpa “Gramps” to 14 grandchildren, Savannah and Samantha Cox, Heidi (Dennis) Sandker and Andrew Fancher, Joshua, Jacob, Jonah and Jordan McGeorge, Christian, Collin, Cayden and Brynn Walters, Davis Mills and Luke Litwin; sisters Maria (late Bill) Huckaby, JoAnn (Jerry) Marcum, late Shirley Zehnder; Special brother-in-law to Jodi (Tim) Toft, Diane (Chris aka Honorary Brother from another mother) Memory, Deborah Bernecker, Jim (Michelle) Henderson and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Chuck was a 1965 graduate of Elder High School. Chuck is a 101st Air Borne U.S. Army (April 1966 – April 1968) veteran of the Vietnam War, where he earned several medals, including National Defense Service Medal and Vietnam Service Medal. Chuck retired from Kroger after 45 years, where he worked as a Diesel Mechanic. Chuck adored his wife and there wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for her. He beamed with pride when he talked about his children and grandchildren. He loved watching his grandkids grow up, attending their sporting events, riding them around on his lawn mower, showing off his beloved pocketknives, and spoiling them with the best snacks. Chuck enjoyed frequent trips to Gatlinburg, TN with his wife and family. Chuck also spent a great amount of time tinkering around in his workshop with his many tools and gadgets. Chuck was a friend to all that knew him and would do anything for anyone, even a stranger or person in need. We will all remember him as the world’s best mechanic. They simply don’t make men like Chuck anymore. Services will be Wednesday, February 9th, with visitation beginning at 5:00 PM until the time of service at 6:00 PM at Evans Funeral Home, 741 Center St., Milford, Ohio 45150. Family will receive friends afterward for fellowship and celebration at Chuck and Cindi’s residence, 6826 Paxton Rd., Loveland, Ohio 45140. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Chuck’s honor to American Legion Riders Post 450, Attn: Norm Ellis, 450 Victor Stier Dr., Milford, OH 45150. This organization was very kind to Chuck visiting with special gifts and keeping in touch the last few months.
