Connie L. Holden

February 26, 1942 — April 2, 2025

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Connie Lue Holden, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who departed this life peacefully on April 2, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on February 26, 1942, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to the late Harold and Lena (nee Spencer) Thomas. Connie made her home in Fayetteville, Ohio, where she cherished her family and community.


Connie's life was marked by her deep devotion to her loved ones. She was married to her first husband, the late Lawrence A. Evans, with whom she shared 35 years and raised five wonderful children. Her family was her greatest joy, and she delighted in celebrating each milestone, ensuring that every birthday was a festive occasion filled with love and laughter. Connie especially enjoyed time with her grandchildren, whom she adored more than anything.


Connie was the beloved wife of 26 years to Paul E. Holden; Loving mother of Larry (Jenny) Evans, Jackie Wagoner, Jodie Dozier, Janie (Craig Blackschleger) Evans, and Rick (Vanessa) Evans; Cherished grandmother of Brittany Dozier, Courtney Dozier, Scottie Southall, Nikki Southall, Ellie Dozier, and Duncan Frazier; Great-grandmother of Hejona, Ajla, and Ari Kadiu; Dear sister of Larry Thomas.


Along with her husband Lawrence and parents, Connie is preceded in death by her two sisters Sue Prather and Sandy Steward.


A woman of many passions. She loved her flowers and tending to her garden. Connie was also a lifelong collector and a dedicated journal keeper. Her inquisitive nature and welcoming demeanor meant she never met a stranger, and her happiness was contagious, leaving a lasting impression on those around her.


Connie had a heart for service and was deeply involved in her community. She devoted over 20 years to teaching Catechism at St. Patrick Chapel, sharing her faith and guiding the next generation. She also co-chaired the dessert committee for the annual St. Patrick Church Festival, a cherished event she looked forward to each year


Connie's life will be celebrated with a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at St. Patrick Church on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 11:00 AM. Prior to this, family and friends will gather for an evening visitation at Evans Funeral Home in Milford on Monday, April 7, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Burial will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery.
