Daniel J. Busam, a cherished presence in the lives of many, passed away peacefully due to a lengthy illness, on April 19, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on May 7, 1950, Dan lived a life filled with laughter, love, and unforgettable memories, leaving an indelible mark on everyone he met.
Daniel, lovingly known as Dan, was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Sueann Busam. Together, they shared a bond that was reignited at the St. Andrew-St. Elizabeth Ann Seton grade school reunion, reminding us all of the power of love and connection. Dan's joyful spirit was a beacon of light for his family, including his late sons, David and Brian, his step-daughters, Kristin and Trisha and their families, his granddaughter, Brooklyn, and his many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife Julie.
He was a dedicated brother to Becky Cunningham and Karl Busam, and a caring sibling to his late brothers and sister, Connie Clements, Greg Busam, and Skip Busam. Dan embraced family with open arms, treasured his relationships with his sisters-in-law, including Karen Busam, Beverly Busam, and Paulette Busam, and held fond memories of his late brothers-in-law, Butch Clements and Barry Cunningham. Dan is also survived by his furry four-legged friends, Annie, Teddy, Spotty, and Baby (the little grey cat).
Dan was known for his delightful sense of humor and boisterous personality, traits that transformed any gathering into a jubilant celebration. He found joy in coaching youth football, serving as a 4-H advisor for the Clermont County Pork Producers including his sons and nieces. He loved sharing peaceful afternoons fishing with his nephews. Whether it was in the pool with a cold beer and a cigar in hand, or simply reveling in the warmth of family togetherness, Dan's infectious laughter and kindness will resonate in the hearts of those who knew him. Dan had a passion for his Corvette, Camaro and his trucks. He retired from Jim Penker Construction as a heavy equipment operator for over 20 years including big jobs such as the Great American Ball Park.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Dan's honor at St. Patrick Church on Friday, April 25, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. Friends and family will have the opportunity to pay their respects during a visitation that will precede the service, starting at 10:30 a.m. Following the mass, Dan will be laid to rest at St. Patrick Cemetery in Fayetteville.
As we gather to celebrate the remarkable life of Daniel J. Busam, we remember him not just for his laughter and joy but for the love and kindness he shared with everyone around him. He will be profoundly missed but eternally loved.
The family would like to thank the Vitas Hospice organization, especially Jamie, Courtney and Erica. They gave comfort and care to Dan and Sueann.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Evans Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
