Daniel Michael Eggers

September 16, 1973 — March 7, 2022

Daniel Michael Eggers, 48, of Miami Township, Ohio has answered the call to God. He passed away March 7, 2022. He was born to the late Dannie Leilani (Keller) Eggers and William Robert Eggers on September 16, 1973 in Cincinnati, Ohio. In addition to his father William, Dan is survived by his brother, James Patrick Eggers of Largo, Florida. Daniel completed his studies at Milford High School in 1992 and continued his education at University of Cincinnati. Daniel then went on to work at Kroger in 1995 where he was currently employed upon his passing. Anyone who knew Daniel would describe him as loyal, devoted, dedicated, compassionate, adventurous and sports-loving (an avid Bengals fan). He was loyal and devoted to his faith, both in and outside of church. Throughout his life he regularly attended mass, and could be found in the second pew at St Andrews Church during Saturday 5:15 mass. Dan was also a volunteer member of St. Andrews Centennial Celebration History Committee. In life, Dans decisions always aligned with his religion, which spoke to his strong character. In his teen years, Dan would shuttle people from Young Life in his ever-infamous Hyundai Sonata. This act was a feat because en route to Burger King the car always seemed to hold more people than was legally allowed. In addition to memories made with friends, family recollects week-long vacations in Louisville, Kentucky. One prominent family story involving his cousins who went to a wresting match with Dan. What many would expect to take 2 hours at most, took over six, yet Dan remained excited and steadfast. The family joke was that no one would allow Dan to go to another wrestling match for the remainder of the century. For the past 27 years Daniel worked at Kroger, and until recently, didn’t miss a day in over 25 years. He typically arrived early to his shift, to catch up on the days’ events with co-workers. He regularly wore Bengal gear and would converse with fellow sports fans about his evening enjoyment of Sports Center. During the work day he greeted everyone with kindness and a smile, and was known as “U-Scan Dan”. He embraced every conversation with attentiveness as well as positivity. He was always genuinely interested in the lives of others, and would ensure adults and children alike were treated with the same enthusiasm. In his younger years, Dan enjoyed watching The Golden Girls with his Mother, Dannie, and in recent times he shared wonderful memories with his dear and true friend, while watching the Andy Griffith Show. His love of people from church, his community from work and his family would all agree that Dan lived his life in the moment and spread nothing but smiles and positivity. His devotion, loyalty, dedication, compassion and shared love of sports touched his community enough that many people took the time to ensure he received a well deserved send-off. For that, his family is eternally and deeply grateful. We would also like to express a special thank you to Jenna O’Brien, Bob Welch, Deacon Tim Schutte at St Andrews Church, and Lou at Evans Funeral home. Family will receive friends on Friday, March 18, from 9:30-10:45 AM at Evans Funeral Home, Milford. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Andrew Church beginning at 11:00 AM.
