Daryl Owen Vearil

With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Daryl Owen Vearil, who left this world on July 1, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on April 4, 1952, in Mariemont, Ohio, Daryl embraced life with an infectious energy that brightened the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know him. While his house was in Fayetteville, Ohio, his friends and family ranged from the west side to the east side where his remarkable spirit radiated warmth and joy.

Daryl was a character-known for his charismatic personality and sense of humor that could light up a room. His favorite pastime was sharing "Dad Jokes," always ready with a clever pun that would elicit laughter from friends and family alike. He loved to declare, while proudly spelling out his name, "V is for victory!" This trademark phrase captured his optimistic outlook on life.With his iconic handlebar mustache, Daryl was not only a memorable figure in his community but also a beloved father, grandfather and brother. He leaves behind a legacy of love through his daughters, Nikki (Rodger) Smith and Joy Vearil, and his son, Ben (Sarah) Vearil. He cherished his grandchildren, Rodger Smith, Colin Smith, Benjamin Vearil, and Owen Vearil, who he adored spending time with as well as his brother and sister, Keith (Sue) Vearil and Anne (Chris) Bastille.

An aficionado of '70s music, Daryl found solace and joy in the sounds of legendary bands such as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and Pink Floyd. His passion for music was not just a hobby; it was a part of who he was, echoing his vibrant spirit. His favorite place was working with his tools or on an old car or motorcycle. Whether tinkering or MacGyver'ing, he had a part for just about everything and there wasn't much he could not fix. He was a life long motorcycle and motorcross enthusiast and was most at home with the wind in his face.

Friends and family are invited to gather for a visitation the evening of Wednesday, July 9, 2025, from 6-8 PM. The family will honor Daryl's memory with a funeral service on Thursday, beginning at 10:00 AM. Following the service, Daryl will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Cemetery in Milford.

Daryl Owen Vearil will be profoundly missed but fondly remembered for his humor, his loving nature, and the countless lives he touched. He is remembered by Debbie Powell, with whom he shared his later years and her children Nick, Amber and grandchildren, and by Donna Vearil, mother of his children and longtime friend. In our hearts and memories, he will remain an everlasting source of joy.

Daryl was preceded in death by his parents Wayne Vearil and Betty Vearil, and his brother Billy Vearil.
