It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David Mitchel Jewell, who left us peacefully on May 28, 2026, at the age of 88. Dave was born on October 14, 1937, in Brule, Wisconsin, and spent his life dedicated to his family, education, working on the farm, and advancement of the gospel.

A committed educator and school principal with over three decades of service, Dave served with distinction at the West Clermont Public Schools of Merwin Elementary and Holly Hill Elementary, opening the latter in 1982. His passion for teaching and genuine care for his students and teachers inspired many, leaving a legacy that will be long remembered by those whose lives he touched.

Dave was preceded in death by his father, Frank W. Jewell Jr, mother, Jorid R. (Gryto), sister, Carol J. Lommasson, and brother, Jerome K. Jewell.

Dave is survived by his beloved wife, Arlene F. (Howard); his devoted daughters, Donice M. Palmer and her husband, Adam T, and Deanne M. Lawrence and her husband, Joe V; and his cherished grandchildren, Emily A. Snook and her husband, Chris, and Caleb T. Palmer. He also leaves behind his loving sister, Louise M. DuChaine, and brother, Donald W. Jewell, who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.

In honoring Dave's memory, his family will hold funeral services to celebrate his life. The service will take place on June 1, 2026, at 6640 OH-48, Goshen, OH, where his immediate family will gather for a private graveside service. Following the services, Dave will be laid to rest, where his family will find solace in knowing he now rests in peace waiting for the resurrection.

As we reflect on Dave's life, we remember a man of faith, integrity, love, and unwavering dedication. Dave loved God and served in numerous positions in the Seventh-day Adventist Church. He was an elder and Sabbath School teacher for decades. Reading religious books, planting trees and flowers, and spending time with family were some of his favorite activities. His warmth and wisdom will be deeply missed, but his memory will forever remain in our hearts.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Hospice of Cincinnati (https://hospiceofcincinnati.org/donate/) in Dave's memory, ensuring others receive the same quality of compassionate care which he received.
