David E. Peller
August 11, 1950 - December 14, 2021
Surrounded by loved ones, David "Dave" Peller, 71, passed away on December 14, 2021.
Born on August 11, 1950, Dave was the third child and first son of Barney and Edna (Neu) Peller. Dave grew up in Goshen, Ohio and as a young man, enjoyed racing and working on cars. After graduating from Goshen High School, Dave embarked on an industrious career in the lending and mortgage industries. He enjoyed building relationships with his clients, getting to know their families and lives as if they were family. If Dave was ever your mortgage broker, you are likely still receiving a birthday and holiday card from him.
Dave was a lover of nature, books, history, and cars. He spent a lot of time outdoors, read voraciously, watched the History channel with gusto, and talked about cars as if he were the editor of Car and Driver magazine (to which he subscribed religiously). He was well-versed in all aspects of gunmanship and loved spending time at the range. Music, though, was one of his most treasured interests. His vast music library spanned the decades and genres, and Dave was trusted to orchestrate the evening's playlist on many occasions. These passions he shared with his children, sons-in-law, grandchildren, and friends.
Dave had a great sense of humor (especially to himself) and his grandchildren loved to hear him laugh. He would spend hours with his grandchildren: holding the babies, playing Tic Tac Toe, swimming in the pool, watching documentaries, shooting at the range, and more. His love for them was boundless and evident in every embrace and every word.
To his children, Dave was larger than life. Since they can remember, he worked to provide opportunities and experiences for them. He took them camping in the mountains of North Carolina, vacationing on the beaches of Mexico, jeeping in the deserts of Arizona, and sightseeing to such treasures as the Grand Canyon. He wanted to show them the world and be there alongside them to point out all the many wonders their young eyes might miss. They are forever grateful for those moments.
Dave was a very loving husband to Marcia (Winterman) for 34 years. Early on in their relationship, Marcia was impressed with how much he loved his children, and she knew when they had a child together, their child would be just as loved. They enjoyed spending time together traveling, going out to eat, and sipping a little bourbon on the back deck as they listened to music. One of their favorite date nights was snuggling in bed and watching The Voice, taking bets on who would win. He insisted on making her breakfast every day and packing her lunch so she ate well. She would often tell him she couldn't eat that much or he put too many sweets in her lunch and his reply was always, "Save it for later. You never know if you will need an afternoon pick-me-up." His thoughtful gestures meant so much to Marcia.
Being with family and friends was the most important part of living for Dave. Anyone who knew him understood his love of life and gregarious nature. Dave will be deeply missed and loved through eternity by his family and friends.
Dave is preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife Marcia (Winterman); daughters Tina Collins and husband Steve, Colleen Peller, Amanda Bimonte and husband Bob, Michele Burns and husband James, Jessica Heinekamp and husband Drew; grandchildren Sydney Collins, Ethan Collins, Justin Apgar, Alexandra Apgar, Jacob Apgar, Gage Peller, Destiny Peller, William Bimonte, Archer Bimonte, Fletcher Bimonte, Ella Burns, Lena Burns, and Eleanor Heinekamp; sisters Mary Hayes and husband Don, Maureen Curless; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends who call him family.
A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, December 22nd from 5 to 7 P.M. at Evans Funeral Home, 741 Center Street, Milford, OH with memories to be shared beginning at 6:30 P.M. Masks are encouraged.
Dave was an avid dog lover and would have appreciated that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made online to the SPCA of Cincinnati or via mail at Attn: Donor Relations 11900 Conrey Road, Cincinnati, OH 45249.
