David Vernon Swearingen, age 66, of Blanchester passed Saturday, May 16, 2015 surrounded by his family at his residence. He was born October 5, 1948 in Warren County the son of Marvin E. "Pete" and Jennie Marie Collins. He was a member of the U.S. Air Force and then joined the Army National Guard serving 25 years. He retired after 15 years of service with Collett Propane and currently was serving as the Blanchester Zoning Commissioner. David was also a member of the Blanchester Lodge# 191 F.&A.M. On Jan. 2, 1990 he married Margie Coyle Swearingen, who survives, along with his children, Tina (Brian) Fulton, David Jr. & Shawn (Katti) Swearingen, step children, Chris (Ron) Maier & Gary (Kerry) Stanforth, 16 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, brothers, Jake, Bill and Danny Swearinger Jr. & sisters, Sue Jones, JoAnn Bobbitt, Ruth Davis, Brenda Harcourt and Cindy McClanahan. Services will be 1:00PM Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at the Evans Funeral Home, 1944 St. Rt. 28, Goshen with visitation from Noon until time of service. Reverend Calvin Martin will officiate. Burial will follow in the Blanchester I.O.O.F. Cemetery with military honors provided by the American Legion Post #179. Pallbearers will be Jesse, Danny Jr. and David Swearingen Jr., Gary & Isaiah Stanforth, Ron Maier, Bobby Coyle and Nicholas Winters. www.evansfuneralhome.com
