David Henry Vonderstrasse beloved husband of 25 years to Charlotte Ann (nee Bailey) Vonderstrasse; loving father of Hope Marie Mendoza and April Sue Lucas; step-father of Jeffrey Charles Smith and Angela Marie Smith; cherished Grandpa of Justin, Alex, Joshua, Daniel and Michael Mendoza, Ivy and Marquita Lucas, Cassandra Bene and Sam, Drew and James Smith; great grandpa of Leelan and Sylas Wheeler, Karlie, Ava and Isabel Mendoza; dear brother of Vicki Shaffer, Mary Lou Vonderstrasse and Debbie Roberts. Went home to be with the Lord on August 28, 2022. Age 71. Residence The Villages, Florida, formerly of Owensville, Ohio. David loved to fish. He enjoyed playing and winning at cards. David loved his family and especially playing with the children. He retired from General Motors and Ford Motor Company as a pipefitter. Visitation will be held at the Evans Funeral Home, 741 Center St., Milford, OH 45150 on Tuesday September 6, 2022 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. Funeral service will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday September 7, 2022 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Gardens in Mt Healthy, Ohio. Memorial donations may be given to St Vincent DePaul Society or St Jude's Children's Hospital.
