David S. West

David Strong West, age 96, of Madeira, passed away April 4, 2019 at the Seasons Retirement Community. He was born June 4, 1922 in Terrace Park the son of Samuel and Alice (nee McAuley) West. He was an U.S. Army Air Force Veteran during WWII, as a First Lieutenant Bomber Pilot. After the service he worked in sales at the Bode Finn Company working his way up to Vice President before retirement. Over the years he was a member of St. Thomas and Holy Trinity Episcopal Churches and a lifelong Rotary Club member. His wife of 67 years, Evelyn C. West preceded him in death July 23, 2018. He is survived by daughters And Spouse, Susan West, Mary & Jim Hyer, grandsons; Sam (Lindsay) Hyer, and Drew Hyer, brother; Richard West, and preceded by siblings, Katherine McComb, Elizabeth, John, Oliver & Sam West. a Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be 10:30 AM, Monday, April 15, 2019 at the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 7190 Euclid Ave. Cincinnati, Ohio 45243 His family requests memorials to the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church or The Air Force Museum Foundation, 1100 Spaatz St., Wright-Patterson AFB, OH 45433
