Delbert Elga Burfitt

BURFITT, DELBERT ELGA - Del was born September 7, 1943 in Sharon, Pensylvania to Delbert J. and Lucille Burfitt (nee Olds); He graduated from Warren G. Harding High School and then attended Youngstown State for two years at that point he enlisted in the United States Army for 3 years. In the Army, he served in Korea during Vietnam for 2.5 years, Del honorably served our country and was discharged January 31, 1972.

He was married for 40 years to the love of his life, Patricia Burfitt (nee Kneipp) who preceded him in death October 16, 2022. Del was the devoted father of Tamara Gingrich and Jill (Bryan) Warner. Step-father of Darren Sprague, Daniel (Pam) Larison, and David (Sarah) Larison. Proud grandfather of Mariah Paul, Anna Keating, Emmy Larison, Seth Gringrich, Alivia Sprague, Daniel Larison, Alexander Sprague, Gabby Larison, Andrew Gingrich, Alexa Gringrich, Chelsea Gingrich, Lilly Larison, and Vivienne Larison. Great grandfather of Jacob Paul, Corwin Paul, Aspen Paul, and Riley Gingrich; Brother to the late Dennis Burfitt.

Del worked in sales of insurance and annuities his whole life. he loved volunteering at the American Legion Hall while living in Florida. He was a man with great faith. Del's television had many channels but he only watched sports or Fox News.

There will be a Graveside service scheduled at Dayton National Cemetery 4400 W Third Street Dayton, Ohio 45428 Wednesday May 29,2024, at 1:00 PM.
