Diane L. Piening

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Diane Lynn Piening, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who left us peacefully on May 10, 2026, at the age of 61. Born on January 11, 1965, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late Albert and Lois (nee Sutter) Ritter.

Diane dedicated her life to the care and well-being of her family. She served as a loving spouse to her husband, Tim, and will be remembered as a devoted mother to her four daughters, who were truly her life's work. Diane's life was a testament to love, generosity, and selflessness; she always put the needs of others before her own, embodying the spirit of compassion.

Diane was not only the backbone of her family but also the go-to person for friends and loved ones who sought her wisdom and support. Her grandchildren brought her immeasurable joy and she cherished every moment spent with them, instilling values of kindness and resilience in all who surrounded her. Diane's love for her family extended beyond them; she was known for her willingness to help others and her knack for creating a warm and inviting home.

An avid poker enthusiast, Diane enjoyed participating in game nights with her siblings, often bringing laughter and camaraderie to the table. She savored the simple pleasures of life, from camping at the river with her family to tending to her vibrant garden filled with beautiful flowers. Together with Tim, she regularly attended Mass at St. Thomas More Church, an integral part of their spiritual journey.

Diane is survived by her beloved husband of 40 years Timothy J. Piening; Loving mother of Rachel (Matthew Sneddon) Piening, Amanda (Nicholas) Duggan, Nicole Piening, and Danielle Piening; Cherished grandmother of Timothy Duggan, Elaina Duggan, Daniel Duggan, and Samuel Sneddon; Dear sister of Mark Ritter, Mike Ritter, Denise Webb, Matt Ritter, Danette Grizovic, Lori Ritter, Lisa Bresser, Renee Collett, and Gina Crowley.

Along with her parents, Diane is preceded in death by her sister Donna Chandler.

A visitation will take place on Monday, May 18, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Thomas More Church. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 AM. Burial to follow at St. Louis Cemetery - Owensville, OH.
