Donald Demaree

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donald R. Demaree, fondly known as "Big Don," on September 19, 2025, at the age of 66. Born on July 18, 1959, Donald left an indelible mark on the lives of all who knew him through his laughter, love, and generous spirit.

Donald was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Debbie Demaree (nee Logan), with whom he shared a life full of adventure and joy. Together, they raised four wonderful children: Jennifer (Adam) Atha, Krista (Jonathan) Shaffer, Zack (Jordan) Demaree, and Amber (Tristan) Roberts, who will carry forward his legacy of love and kindness. He was also the cherished grandfather of Amaya Williams, Demi, Finn, and Cruz Shaffer, and Beau and Emma Demaree.

He leaves behind his mother, Carolyn Roop (nee Clark), siblings Patty Franks, Ava (Bert) Cowan, and Darius Demaree Jr., along with many nieces, nephews, and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Darius Demaree Sr., and his sister, Paula.

Donald was a man of many talents; he found joy in working on and building cars, a passion that fueled his love for life on the open road as a truck driver. His high spirits transcended into his love for music-what some might call loud and goofy-making every gathering come alive with his infectious energy. For many years Donald was deeply involved with the Harlan Township Fire Department and road crew, showcasing his commitment to serving his community. Summer days were often spent camping at "Happyland," a special pond that captured the essence of happiness and family bonding.

Donald's warmth, generosity, and lighthearted nature touched the lives of all who knew him. His legacy of love and laughter will live on in the hearts of his family and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, beginning at 10:30 a.m. at Evans Funeral Home (1944 State Route 28, Goshen, Ohio 45122), followed by a funeral service at 12:00 p.m.

He will be laid to rest at Edwardsville Cemetery in Blanchester, Ohio.

Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate Donald's life, share memories, and honor the remarkable legacy he leaves behind.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made directly to the funeral home to assist the family with final expenses.
