Donald F. Fender (Don) passed away on October 2, 2026, in Milford, Ohio, at the wisdom rich age of 86.
Don was preceded in death by his beloved wife of more than 60 years, Sandra Ann Fender (Sandy), who passed away on July 25, 2025. Together, Don and Sandy built a life filled with family, friendship, travel, and many treasured memories. He was also preceded in death by his parents Rosie and Virgil Fender and his brother Jerry Fender.
Don is survived by his niece, Brit Graham and nephew, Max Fender and his extended family, including nieces and nephews: Kirsten Rosser, Art Rosser, Karen Wilson, Jason Spang, Brent Spang, Todd Spang, Becky Heinzeroth, Tony St. Aubin; and Sandy's sister, Joyce and brother-in-law, Gary Wilson; sister-in-law, Linda Fender; along with their families.
Don, like his wife, Sandy, started his career in education as a physical education teacher and coach at Mariemont School System and Terrace Park. Later, he went on to a career in sportswear sales until his retirement. Don spent his entire life in the Milford and Cincinnati area and was a pillar of the community from his early start as a star athlete. He was a lifelong fan of the Bengals, Reds, and the Buckeyes.
Don will be remembered for his easy smile and being a great storyteller. He has always had a passion for the friendships he shared on the golf course. His family and friends will deeply miss his presence and will cherish the memories they shared with him.
In honor of Don's life and generous spirit, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
Don's service will be held on November 7, 2026, at Sycamore Presbyterian Church.
