Donald Lee Freeman

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of the Donald Lee Freeman on September 10, 2024, at the age of 88. Don was born on August 22, 1936, in Peebles, OH, to the late Edgar and Myrtle (nee McFarland) Freeman.

Don was the beloved husband of 59 years to his late wife Jo Ann Freeman (nee Bricker); Loving father of Debbie (Ed) Crowe, Lisa (Tracy) Tucker, and Christy (Jim) Bishop; Dear grandfather of Alex (Hannah) Crowe, Andy Crowe, Anthony (Amber) Tucker, Kristin Tucker (Mitchell Bushong), Austin (Emily) Bishop, and Blake Bishop (Cheyenne Trammell); Great-grandfather of McChord Crowe.

Along with his wife and parents, Don is preceded in death by his siblings Milton Freeman, William Freeman, and Mary Holland.

After high school, Don joined the United States Army. He was a proud Army veteran who served his country with bravery and honor.

Throughout his life, Don found joy in the simple pleasures. He was an avid gardener, finding solace and peace among his blossoming plants. His love for fishing knew no bounds, and the memories of those days spent by the water will forever be cherished. A skilled woodworker, Don's creations were a testament to his craftsmanship, whether it was crafting cabinets, furniture, or building birdhouses and barns.

Don's commitment extended beyond his hobbies. He was an active member of Goshen Methodist Church, where his faith guided him through life's journey. In his children's formative years, Don was involved in 4-H, instilling values of dedication and hard work.

Don's generosity extended beyond his family and friends. He was known for his friendly demeanor and generous spirit, Don was a pillar of support to his neighbors, always ready to lend a helping hand and offering kindness to everyone he encountered

His love for the Cincinnati Bengals and football was unwavering, bringing excitement and joy during game days. His loyalty, love, and generosity touched the lives of all who knew him, and his warm presence made him a friend to all.

A visitation will be held on Monday, September 16, 2024, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Goshen Methodist Church - 6710 Goshen Road, Goshen, OH 45122. Funeral service will begin at 12:30 PM. Burial will follow at Plainview Cemetery.

Don will be remembered for his loyalty, love, and generosity, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him. A compassionate soul who never met a stranger, Don's presence will be deeply missed.
