With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Doris Runell Watson, a cherished wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Doris was born on January 14, 1939, in Glasgow, Kentucky, and entered eternal rest on February 13, 2026. She left this world peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family.
Doris lived a vibrant life, dedicated to her family and the many passions that brought her joy. As a devoted housewife, she managed the warmth of her home with grace and love. Known for her adventurous spirit, Doris loved spending time at the casino, where she enjoyed the thrill of the game and the laughter shared with friends. Her enthusiasm extended to her beloved flower garden, where she nurtured blooms that mirrored her zest for life, and her love for bowling, a pastime she delighted in sharing with family and friends. Doris and Bobby liked to travel the United States, sometimes on motorcycles.
Doris is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Bobby Watson, Sr., her brothers Darrell (Sharon) Gilpin and David (Janet) Gilpin, her sister Rita (Harold) Goins, and her sister-in-law Marlene Gilpin. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her daughter-in-law Tracy Watson, her grandchildren Bobby Watson III, Geneva Watson, Gary Watson, Scott (Julia) Watson, Caroline Nash, and eleven additional great-grandchildren, as well as one great-great-grandchild, all of whom brought her immense pride and joy. Doris was preceded in death by: her parents Claude Arthur & Mamer Odell Gilpin, son Bobby Watson, Jr., brothers Wallace and Doyle Gilpin, and grandson Jesse Gray.
In reflection of her beautiful life, funeral services will be held in her honor, celebrating her remarkable spirit and the loving memories she created. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2026 at 2PM in the Evans Funeral Home, Milford, Ohio. Friends and family may call from 1PM until time of services, where we will gather to share stories, laughter, and tears, remembering the happiness that Doris brought into our lives.
Doris Runell Watson's legacy of joy, love, and laughter will continue to blossom in the hearts of all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
