It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Douglas Steve Baker, 76, who departed this life on September 21, 2025. Born on May 29, 1949, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Douglas lived a vibrant life filled with love, laughter, and adventure.
A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, Douglas served his country honorably as a Code Breaker for 5 years. His time in service shaped his unwavering love for his country and instilled in him a strong sense of pride and commitment to his nation.
Douglas was a man of many passions. He had an unquenchable enthusiasm for anything with a motor, whether it was hotrods, motorcycles, or boats. His hands were often grease-stained, and his smile was wide as he shared stories about his latest camping adventure or the thrill of revving up his favorite ride. He found joy in the great outdoors, frequently taking his family on camping trips where laughter echoed through the trees and stories were shared under the stars.
He was known for his ornery personality, effortlessly engaging everyone around him with his humor and charm. Douglas never met a stranger; everyone was a potential friend in his eyes. His positivity was infectious, and he had a remarkable ability to turn any situation into a reason to smile.
He leaves behind his beloved sons, Scott (Chrissy) Baker and Robert (Jessy) Baker and his cherished grandchildren, Hayley, Paige, Abby, and Emily Baker. Also mourning his passing is the mother of his children and partner of 49 years, Debbie Baker, his brother, Wayne (Debbie Grant) Baker, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, who, like all of us, will miss Douglas's light-hearted spirit and warm presence. He is preceded in death by his parents Steve and Ginny Baker and his grandparents C.W. and Parazetta Jessee.
The family will receive friends at Evans Funeral Home, in Milford, on Tuesday, October 7th from 6 PM until time of services beginning at 7 PM.
Though he may no longer walk among us, Douglas Steve Baker's legacy of love, laughter, and camaraderie will continue to inspire all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
