Douglas Burl Gallimore: A Life Lived with Passion and Purpose

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Douglas Burl Gallimore, a man known for his unwavering spirit, his deep connection to his family, and his genuine love for life. Douglas passed away peacefully on Friday, February 14, 2025 at Hospice of Cincinnati at the age of 87.

Born on June 11, 1937 in Reading to parents Carrie and Ronels Gallimore, Douglas was raised with a strong sense of family, hard work, & integrity. This foundation shaped him into the remarkable individual he became. He attended Sharonville Schools where he loved to play basketball.

For years, Douglas dedicated himself to helping others as a handyman, where he was known for his good work ethic and his commitment to helping others.

Beyond his professional life, Douglas was deeply involved in his family. He was an avid car enthusiast. He found great joy in restoring old vehicles, attending car shows, and attending auctions.

Douglas was a loving and devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He cherished spending time with his family, creating lasting memories that will be treasured for generations to come.

He is survived by his beloved wife Barbara Irene Gallimore, his children Ronnie (Rose) Gallimore, Vicky (Ron) Shepherd, Jeff (Tina) Gallimore, step children Charles Trusty, and Ronald Trusty, and his grandchildren Nicholas (Lani) Gallimore, Stephanie (Bret) Bartley, Tiffany Bertram, Anthony Bertram, Jeremy Bertram, Brandon Wilson, Shawna (Kyle) Thompson, Jessica (Joshua) Powell, Zach (Brook) Trusty, Hayden Trusty and many great grand children. He is also survived by his sisters Marlene (David) Blankenship, Brenda Schmitz.

Douglas was preceded in death by his mother Carrie Gallimore and father Ronels Gallimore.

Douglas will be remembered for his generosity, kindness, sense of humor, positive attitude, intelligence, strength, compassion. He leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication. His warm smile will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A visitation and funeral service will be held on February 19th, 2025 starting at noon in the Evans Funeral Home in Goshen, Ohio.

Though he is no longer with us, the memory of Douglas Burl Gallimore will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. He will be forever missed.
