It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Douglas Brent Hinners, known affectionately as Doug, who left this world on July 23, 2026, at the age of 67. Born on March 3, 1959, in Mariemont, Ohio, to the late Lester Hinners and Ruth Mohler. Doug was a lifelong resident of Newtonsville, Ohio.
Doug was a proud supporter of Cincinnati sports teams, cheering passionately for the Cincinnati Reds, Cincinnati Bengals, and the UC Bearcats. He also cherished the adventures he took with his family, from traveling to exciting places to enjoying the thrills of the casino. Doug's easy-going nature and generosity made him a beloved figure among his friends, family, and his step-children, whom he loved as if they were his own.
Doug was the beloved husband of 13 years to Sharon Hinners (nee Sheek); Loving step-father of Mandy (Robert) Benningfield, Amber (Devin) Cox, Tommy (Katie) Benningfield, and Joey Gish; Grandpa of Corbin Cox, Casen Cox, and Camden Cox; Dear brother of Darin (Teresa) Hinners; Uncle to Sabrina Sellers, Jacob Hinners, and Alice Sellers.
He is preceded in death by his parents Lester and Ruth Hinners.
Doug was known for his dependability and willingness to lend a helping hand. Whether it was providing support to friends and family or sharing a kind word, he had a remarkable ability to brighten the lives of those around him. He brought joy and comfort to countless individuals, and his legacy of kindness will endure in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A visitation will be held on Monday, August 3, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Evans Funeral Home - Milford. A Celebration of Life will begin at 12:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial donations to be made to the American Cancer Society, honoring Doug's generous spirit and commitment to helping others.
