Douglas Wayne Hughes

April 9, 1969 — August 29, 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Douglas Wayne Hughes, a talented painter and beloved member of our community, who departed this world on August 29, 2025, at the age of 56. Born on April 9, 1969, in Cincinnati, OH, Doug was a vibrant spirit known for his creativity, charm, and a heart that was as giving as it was wild.

A self-employed painter, Doug poured his passion into art, leaving behind a legacy of beauty that will be cherished by those who knew him. He was not just a jack of all trades; he was a master of many, known for his playful spirit and affinity for adventure. Doug found joy in playing pool and was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, always ready to cheer them on with an infectious enthusiasm.

Those who were fortunate enough to cross paths with Doug remember him as a troublemaker and ladies' man, forever twinkling with mischief and delight. His laughter was a balm for the weary, and his giving nature touched the lives of many, forging deep connections with family and friends alike.

He is survived by his loving sister, Esther Hughes and a treasured extended family, including his aunt Juju Vandy and numerous nephews and nieces-Paula, Charles, Melinda, Joseph, Lee, Jocelyn, Jillian, Eric, and Joey. In addition, he delighted in the laughter of his great-niece and nephews-Iaasic, Wyatt, Desire, Calvin, and Henry-whose lives he brightened with his warmth and spirit.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Frances Hughes, brother Joseph Howard Hughes Jr. and several aunts and uncles, who surely awaited his arrival with open arms.

A gathering to celebrate the vibrant life of Douglas Wayne Hughes will take place on October 4th, 2025, at Evans Funeral Home in Milford, where friends and family will unite at 9:30 AM to share memories and honor his legacy.

In this time of remembrance, let us come together to reflect on Doug's life-cherishing his artistry, his humor, and the unyielding love he shared. Though he may have left this realm, his spirit will forever paint our lives with kindness and joy.
